Jubaland President Received the African Union Special Representative to Somalia

Kismayo, August 4, 2025 – The President of the Jubaland State of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Mohamed Islam, today received the African Union Special Representative to Somalia, Ambassador El Hadji Ibrahima Diene, at the Presidential Palace in Kismayo. The Ambassador was accompanied by a high-level delegation on an official visit to Jubaland.

The delegation, which included senior officials from the AUSSOM mission, held a productive meeting with the President focusing on the overall political situation in the country, security developments, and the ongoing fight against terrorism.

During the meeting, Ambassador Diene commended the Jubaland administration’s self-reliant efforts in liberating and stabilizing various areas within the state. He particularly praised the performance and commitment of the Jubaland security forces, highlighting their vital role in ensuring peace and stability in Somalia.
